Have You Ever Considered Trying Yoga?

...ling you. If you feel that you are too tired after a yoga routine, perhaps you should stay at the beginner levels a little longer. Yoga is going to tone and strengthen your body. If your body is not in tune, if it is not toned, you will find upper levels much more difficult to accomplish. Use lower levels of yoga until you feel completely comfortable with all the positions that you are undertaking.

One simple yoga practice is the act of sitting at the edge of your chair with your back held straight. If you do put your arms up on the desk, remember that your back position is really important. Sit with your back straight and your legs out in front of you, and your feet flat on the floor. This will be difficult for the first few minutes, but as you continue practicing over a few days, you will be able to sit better, longer, and your back will be much stronger for it.

Questions about Yoga teacher Training via Correspondence

...Recently, I spoke to a Yoga teacher intern about Yoga teacher training correspondence courses. He had six years of formal training with a master Yoga teacher (Guru), and currently, lives outside of North America. This interview will help to put some light on Yoga teacher training by correspondence.

Q: Will a Yoga teacher training correspondence package make me competent enough to teach Yoga? This is bearing in mind that, at this time, I do not have access to a local Yoga instructor, who can supervise my Yoga teacher training?

A: Yes, your past experience will help, but the Yoga teacher training course must be entirely complete, and if you wanted to send an early pre-exam video, or DVD, to monitor your progress the director of Yoga teacher training should review for free, or for a small fee.

A mirror, camera, and audio recorder also make great learning tools for monitoring your progress, while you prepare to become a Yoga teacher.

Dangers of Kundalini Yoga

To practice kundalini yoga we need to have purity in our mind and vital. If we still cherish worldly thoughts and try to open up our energy centers it will cause tremendous confusion and our efforts will be wasted, as our energy will be directed downwards rather than upwards. If we really want to practice Kundalini yoga the best approach is to meditate and concentrate on the heart. It is in the heart where we will feel purity in abundant measure. Sri Chinmoy suggests:

If you wish to follow the path of kundalini, my humble advice to you is to first try to awaken the heart center. The heart center is considerably pure. The vital or disturbing emotions will be purified by the opening of this center.

...Kids Yoga: You really have to be connected to a childrens day care center, private school, or public school, to have large numbers of kids joining your Yoga classes. This may not be the case everywhere, but it reflects the feedback I get from Yoga teachers worldwide.
